A little past noon today we began our journey to Mission, BC to pick up our new Hedgehog (first of all, thank you Mom, Dad and Matt who all came with me, and especially Dad for your car services).
Upon arrival at our destination, a little boy who answered the door for me wordlessly handed me a hedgehog and proceeded to lead me into the area where the rest of the hedgehogs were kept. A strange welcome it was.
Anyway, after being introduced to the breeders, we got a bit of a rundown about the hedgehogs and what not and ended up taking home the little girl I was handed to so awkwardly at the beginning of our appointment (originally we were planning on adopting a male hedgehog because the name we picked out would have gone better with a male, but after we found out they have "happy time" when they're older we decided to just get a girl... easier than having to clean up the sticky mess... the irony).
Anyway, we took her home in a little carrier which she burrowed in and slept in for most of the ride home.
So meet STICKY --- who was supposed to be Mr. Sticky but I guess just Sticky will have to do now...
Awkwardly alternating between trying to climb into my shirt and coming up my neck Anyway, she's now settled in her cage and taking a hedgenap so I guess that's it for playing until she's more well rested!
